ANNIE FRANCE NÖEL

ANNIEFNheadshot_edited.png

Annie France Noël is a visual artist and cultural worker.

Her practice unfolds through the exploration of the invisible and the inexpressible, using photographic, video, and performative approaches.

Rooted in reflections on gender and the weight of societal norms surrounding parenthood, her practice critically engages dominant narratives.

Using an autotheoretical framework, she examines notions of identity,

memory, expectations, temporality, and representation, consistently weaving connections between the political and the affective.

Annie France's education has been shaped by her involvement in multiple cultural communities and organisations.

Originally from Caraquet, she currently lives, mothers and creates in

Mi'kma'ki territory, Moncton, New Brunswick.
